ISP का router लगा है और उसके पीछे आपने अपना Wi-Fi router या mesh जोड़ दिया है। Internet चल रहा है, लेकिन कुछ applications में connection की परेशानी आती है। ऐसे setup में Double NAT की जाँच उपयोगी हो सकती है। हर slow connection का कारण Double NAT नहीं होता; पहले अपने network का arrangement समझना जरूरी है।
Double NAT कैसे बनता है?
NAT यानी Network Address Translation। जब एक ही connection में दो devices क्रम से routing और NAT कर रहे हों, तो Double NAT वाला setup बन सकता है। उदाहरण: ISP modem-router के बाद दूसरा router, और फिर आपके devices। TP-Link की official guidance ऐसे serial router setups में connectivity issues की संभावना बताती है।
सिर्फ दो boxes दिखने से Double NAT साबित नहीं होता। एक device केवल ONT/modem या Access Point की भूमिका में भी हो सकता है। इसलिए model और operating mode दोनों जाँचें।
बिना Settings बदले पहले यह नोट करें
- Internet cable पहले किस device में आती है और दूसरा device उससे कैसे जुड़ा है?
- दोनों devices के exact model और hardware version क्या हैं?
- दूसरे device में Router Mode है या Access Point Mode?
- समस्या हर website में आती है या केवल किसी application में?
- समस्या कब शुरू हुई—दूसरा router जोड़ने से पहले या बाद में?
इन details को selected ISP या router manufacturer support के साथ साझा करें। Password, OTP या router की admin credentials public screenshots में न रखें।
Access Point Mode कब उपयोगी है?
अगर मौजूदा router network संभाल रहा है और आपको केवल दूसरी जगह Wi-Fi उपलब्ध कराना है, तो supported Access Point Mode एक विकल्प हो सकता है। इसमें दूसरा device existing wired network को wireless access देता है। उसके Router Mode वाले कुछ features उपलब्ध नहीं रहते; exact feature list model के अनुसार देखें।
TP-Link की setup guide में built-in Operation Mode वाले और बिना उस menu वाले routers के अलग तरीके हैं। Cable किस port में लगेगी, यह भी model और setup method पर निर्भर है। किसी दूसरे model का tutorial देखकर सभी devices पर एक जैसी settings लागू न करें।
Bridge Mode अपने-आप Enable न करें
Double NAT से बचने का एक दूसरा तरीका upstream modem-router को supported Bridge Mode में चलाना हो सकता है। लेकिन ISP-managed equipment में बदलाव से पहले ISP से configuration और service requirements की पुष्टि लें। पहले current configuration का backup तथा वापस लौटने का तरीका समझें। केवल इस ब्लॉग के आधार पर running office network में बदलाव न करें।
Support से पूछने की छोटी Checklist
- मेरे setup में कौन सा device main router रहेगा?
- दूसरे device के लिए AP Mode उचित है या Bridge Mode की जरूरत है?
- Mode बदलने पर कौन से features बंद होंगे?
- गलती होने पर existing connection कैसे restore करेंगे?
Double NAT की जाँच configuration समझने का कदम है; इससे हर internet problem ठीक होने की guarantee नहीं है। Line fault, Wi-Fi coverage और device-specific problems अलग से जाँचनी पड़ सकती हैं।
