Laptop की battery बची है, लेकिन बिजली जाते ही Wi-Fi बंद हो गया? Home या small office broadband में power planning भी जरूरी है। सिर्फ एक router के लिए backup खरीदने से पहले समझें कि आपके connection में कौन-कौन से devices powered रहने चाहिए और उनकी compatibility क्या है।
पहले अपने network के devices पहचानें
कुछ FTTH setups में ONT और Wi-Fi router अलग होते हैं; कुछ में एक combined device होता है। अलग ONT बंद हो और केवल router चालू रहे, तो Wi-Fi name दिख सकता है लेकिन internet उपलब्ध नहीं होगा। जरूरत के अनुसार switch, mesh node और काम वाला device भी power plan में शामिल करें।
- कौन-सा box fiber लेता है और कौन Wi-Fi देता है, नोट करें।
- हर जरूरी device का model तथा power specification लिखें।
- कौन-से plugs battery-backed outlet में हैं, जाँचें।
- अपने काम के स्थान तक आवश्यक network path पहचानें।
AC UPS और DC mini UPS की compatibility
AC UPS में सामान्यतः device का approved power adapter उपयोग होता है। Battery backup और केवल surge protection वाले outlets में अंतर हो सकता है; अपने exact UPS manual से सही outlet पहचानें। APC की troubleshooting guide भी modem के लिए battery backup outlet जाँचने को कहती है।
DC mini UPS सीधे device को DC power देने वाला विकल्प हो सकता है, लेकिन केवल connector फिट होने से compatibility तय नहीं होती। Output voltage, connector size, polarity और required current/load support की पुष्टि device तथा UPS manufacturer से करें। कोई universal adapter assumption न बनाएँ।
TP-Link की official specifications में भी अलग models की power requirements अलग हैं: TL-WR1043N में 9 V/0.85 A और EX220-G2u में 12 V/1.5 A दिया है। ये केवल model-specific उदाहरण हैं; अपने device की label और exact revision की guide देखें। Random cable, improvised wiring या गलत voltage का प्रयोग न करें।
Backup समय का अनुमान कैसे समझें?
Battery capacity का number देखकर किसी निश्चित घंटे का वादा मान लेना सही नहीं। Connected load, battery condition और UPS model वास्तविक runtime को प्रभावित करते हैं। APC की Smart-UPS troubleshooting guide कम runtime के कारणों में weak battery और overload बताती है। अपने model की official runtime information और supported load देखें।
- कितने devices साथ चलेंगे, उनकी सूची दें।
- Seller से उसी load के लिए official runtime information माँगें।
- Battery replacement, warranty और support की जानकारी लें।
- Ventilation तथा installation instructions का पालन करें।
- Office के लिए पर्याप्त testing और maintenance की जिम्मेदारी तय करें।
Power backup होने पर भी internet क्यों रुक सकता है?
आपके परिसर में ONT/router powered रहना केवल local setup की जरूरत पूरी करता है। ISP-side equipment, upstream link या अन्य network fault के कारण internet फिर भी बाधित हो सकता है। UPS को internet uptime की guarantee न समझें। Outage के समय device status और ISP notification जाँचें; repeated issue हो तो official complaint दर्ज करें।
Powerline networking उपयोग हो तो विशेष सावधानी रखें। TP-Link की powerline FAQ बताती है कि UPS/filtering powerline communication में बाधा डाल सकते हैं। इसलिए ऐसे adapters को सामान्य router जैसा मानकर UPS में लगाने से पहले exact model की instructions लें।
Work-from-home और छोटे office की checklist
- Important calls से पहले laptop और आवश्यक devices की battery स्थिति देखें।
- Manufacturer instructions के अनुसार backup setup test करें; live important work के बीच test न करें।
- Backup के दौरान ONT/router status तथा अपने work apps जाँचें।
- Temporary mobile-data विकल्प हो तो उसकी coverage और data allowance देखें।
- Issue होने पर समय, device status और complaint number सुरक्षित रखें।
